Lunch with Lord Digby Jones

Lord Digby Jones

We are absolutely delighted to report that on Thursday 5th May, Lord Digby Jones will be speaking at a fundraising lunch in aid of Read Easy UK at the Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire.

As one of the world’s most acclaimed business commentators, Lord Digby Jones entertains and inspires audiences around the globe, so we are very privileged that he should have suggested speaking at this event to highlight his support for what we do and the importance of adult literacy to business.

Lord Jones says, “Having a skilled population is the only way an economy like ours can succeed in this, Asia’s Century. Basic skills are the bedrock of that advantage and adult literacy and numeracy is the Number One achievable aim.”

After a Champagne reception and before lunch, Lord Jones will be sharing his views and reflections on how the country, and the wider world, will fare, and what it will look like, in the months and years ahead.

The lunch, which promises to be an enormously entertaining and informative occasion, is expected to receive significant support from local businesses, large and small.

It costs Read Easy UK only £120 to help someone learn to read. We are therefore inviting local businesses to sponsor someone to learn to read at £120 (in addition to tickets) in exchange for a sponsorship flag on their table and other publicity.

To purchase tickets at £50 each or to sponsor an adult to learn to read, please contact Julie Dove on 01386 701006 or email: <a href="mailto:julie@readeasy.org.uk”>julie@readeasy.org.uk
