We’re really proud and excited about the many ways that our Reading Coaches and groups are continuing to support Readers even though face-to-face coaching sessions can’t take place at the moment.
We have created an online coaching platform through Bramble where Coaches and Readers can meet to continue our phonics-based learning programme. We’re also grateful to Anspear who have kindly allowed our groups to access reading resources through their online platform.
And we’re hearing some great stories about Read Easy Volunteers, Coaches and Readers keeping in touch via Zoom, Facetime, What’s App and the good old-fashioned phone call!
Our Read Easy Axminster & Seaton group shared; “Some of our Readers have contacted us to say they are really grateful to those Coaches who are managing to give them online lessons. Thank you to all those finding ways to keep on helping their Readers during this challenging time.”
Over 2.4 million adults in England alone struggle to read, so we’re delighted that we can continue our work thanks to our amazing volunteers and their desire to keep supporting Readers through this challenging time.
Read Easy is a literacy charity with groups across the UK, who are passionate about transforming lives in the community through a proven, confidential programme of free, one-to-one, volunteer-led adult reading coaching.
