John is a young adult who contacted Read Easy Cambridge this year in order to improve his literacy skills. He was unsure how the weekly reading sessions would go, as learning at school had been very difficult.
John had been diagnosed as a teenager with ADHD – attention deficit hyper activity disorder, which is thought to be caused by developmental differences in the brain that affects the parts controlling attention, concentration, impulsivity, activity levels and memory.
However, thanks to Christene, his amazing Reading Coach, John has coped really well and managed to concentrate during his one to one reading sessions of 20-30 minutes each. He has completed book three of the phonics-based reading resource Turning Pages and is now working through book four.
