Current volunteering opportunities:

There are lots of interesting ways to get involved in a Read Easy group. At the moment we are particularly looking to fill the following roles:

About our group:

Read Easy Islington affiliated with Read Easy UK in July 2022 and began coaching Readers in February 2024. We cover the borough of Islington, helping adults who struggle with reading to boost their skills and confidence through one-to-one coaching.

Read Easy groups are financially independent from Read Easy UK, and we are responsible for raising all the money needed to keep our group going. If you would like to support our work, please get in touch to find out how.

Our Readers’ experiences:

C found the Read Easy approach transformational. In classroom settings, he had previously struggled to engage and progress, but the one-to-one nature of coaching has allowed him to move at his own pace. C has developed a real passion for words and storytelling.

D could not read a single word when he started with Read Easy. Within two months, he was reading and practising between sessions. D says the Read Easy approach has been completely different from the unsuccessful methods he encountered at school, and the experience has been euphoric for him.
