Read Easy Cheltenham & Gloucester
About our group:
Our group was established in December 2016, and works across Cheltenham and Gloucester, helping adults who struggle with reading to increase their reading skills and gain confidence.
We offer free one-on-one lessons for adults in the local area who wish to learn to read. New readers will be paired up with a volunteer reading coach who will provide half-hour lessons twice a week, at an agreed venue. The lessons are free and completely confidential.
If you know of anyone in the area who would like help with their reading, or if you would like to find out more, please contact Mary or Richard, our Coordinators.
For general queries about our group, please contact our Team Leader Anne firstname.lastname@example.org

We’ve seen some incredible successes over the past few years, with our readers and coaches working really hard to make progress.
is learning to read with his coach Jonathan, and in just six months has received his Book 3 certificate. Learning to read has been life-changing for Abubuker – he’s now been accepted onto a college course.
has progressed onto Book 4 of Turning Pages with his coach Monica, fitting his sessions in around full time work and his family. He’s now able to enjoy reading fishing magazines, as well as reading practical things like road signs.
is also on Book 4 and is becoming a confident reader. With his coach, Fiona, he’s been reading The Twits by Roald Dahl, and has made great progress in just nine months. He was also able to write a Mother’s Day card this year – his mum is very proud!
wanted to learn to read so she could read to her own grandchildren, and also the children she fosters. She has completed Book 1 with her coach, Kathy, and although she finds it hard to learn, is very determined to practise.
has recently completed Book 1, with his coach Steve. He wanted to be able to read letters that came through the post, and is making great progress. Steve and Tim have found that preparing and reading through photo stories is a productive way to help with Tim’s reading.
has finished Book 3, and has made fantastic progress as she is very conscientious and does homework between her sessions. She’s also taken up writing a diary, and has seen her confidence with numbers improve.
