Current volunteering opportunities:

There are lots of interesting ways to get involved in a Read Easy group and we often have vacancies, both on our local Management Team and for Reading Coaches. At the moment we are particularly looking to fill the following roles:

  • Deputy Team Leader (charity trustee): With a friendly, people-approach, you’ll share the responsibilities of and support the Team Leader to ensure the effective running of the project: strategy development, team management, leading meetings/speaking at events and more… Time commitment: approx. 2 hours per week
  • Data Protection Champion (charity trustee): You will liaise with members of the Team to make sure that all personal data is stored according to the Data Protection Policy and generally oversee that the group’s records are kept correctly and securely so that more people can learn to read in the community. Time commitment: approx. 1-2 hours per month
  • Coordinator: As a compassionate and understanding person, with time available throughout the working week, you’ll be the first point of contact for Readers referring to our service. You’ll interview prospective Coaches (with our Volunteer Recruiter) and will provide the day-to-day support that both Readers and Coaches need to complete the manuals. You’ll make visits to reading sessions and present stage completion certificates throughout. Time commitment: 4-6+ hrs p/w (working hours)
  • Fundraiser

Please get in touch with Cheryl at hackneyrecruiter@readeasy.org.uk if these vacancies would suit you.

If there are no suitable vacancies listed at the moment, you can still get in touch if you would like to, and we can keep a note of your interest, if you are happy for us to keep your details.
