Pioneer Group Leicester – Pioneer
This group is currently at Pioneer Stage. This means that the group is in the process of being developed and set up. Please contact the group’s Pioneer (contact details above) in order to find out more and to discover how you can get involved.
About the group:
Read Easy is looking for volunteers who are interested in helping to get a group set up in Leicester, and will then run our programme of one-to-one tuition for adults who have difficulty reading. Read Easy offers a free, friendly and flexible approach to learning to read for any adult who either cannot read or lacks confidence with reading. This is an opportunity to work within a small group of like-minded people to offer life changing opportunities to local people. You don’t need to have a background in teaching or adult literacy to be involved, just some spare time and a commitment to the ethos of Read Easy.
We are currently seeking volunteers who might want to take on any of the following roles:
- Team Leader
- Literacy Specialist
- Publicity Organiser
- Data Protection Champion
- Safeguarding Champion
- Volunteer Recruiter
- Referrals Networker
- Venue Organiser
- IT Support
Once the management team is set up, we will also be looking for a coordinator, and then reading coaches.
If you like the sound of what we do and you think you could get involved, please contact Kirsty Spencer and Ramilla Patel, Pioneers in Leicester, at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are interested in supporting our group once we are established through reader referrals, providing a venue for us to use or sponsorship for the local group then please do get in touch. It would be great to hear from you!
