Celebrating Reading in Medway:
To mark the National Year of Reading, we’re holding a special event to showcase the charity’s activities and supporters – and to share our love of reading.
We are hosting an evening at the Community Hub on MidKent College’s Gillingham campus on Thursday, September 24 from 6pm to celebrate reading, literacy and community engagement.
Volunteers will describe the work they do for Read Easy Medway – providing free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for those who cannot read or struggle to do so.
Local personalities, stakeholders, community leaders and members of the public will be reading and talking about their favourite books, poems and plays – and their own writing.
Plus there will be music from a Medway singer-songwriter and refreshments.
