This year has been designated the National Year of Reading, and Read Easy Medway is holding a special event to mark the campaign on Thursday, September 24.
The charity will host an evening at MidKent College’s Gillingham campus to celebrate reading, literacy and community engagement.
Volunteers will describe the work they do for Read Easy Medway – providing free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for those who cannot read or struggle to do so.
Local personalities and members of the public will be reading and talking about their favourite books, poems and plays – and their own writing. Plus there will be music from Medway’s singer-songwriters.
Everyone is welcome to come along to this free event from 6pm. Refreshments will be available.
Stay tuned for further details.
