Current volunteering opportunities:

There are lots of interesting ways to get involved in our Read Easy group and we currently have several volunteering vacancies on our local Management Team:

  • Team Leader : we are looking for a new leader to guide and support our local team of friendly volunteers. If you’re inspired to lead others and be part of a genuinely transformational charity, then we would love to hear from you. You will use your leadership skills to manage and chair our local management team meetings and AGM, help set the vision and strategy for the group and network and be a passionate spokesperson for Read Easy within the local community. This is a hugely important role in the Management Team, and you will be driving the proper and effective direction of the local group from the front. This role will appeal to you if you are motivated by managing a team of diverse volunteers, and by the challenge of ultimately helping hundreds of adults in our community to learn to read.
  • Fundraiser : If you enjoy networking and using your skills and enthusiasm in the service of a charitable cause, then this role will appeal to you. You will help reach out to existing and new supporters to raise funds to ensure our running expenses are covered. Our group is self-financing and needs to cover expenses such as costs such as reading books, training for reading coaches and graduation ceremonies. This role therefore play an important part in ensuring that we can help more people in our community to learn to read.
  • Coordinator : if you are highly organised, enjoy working with people and enabling new activities this role could be for you! You will be involved with meeting and enrolling adults who want to learn to read, and with interviewing volunteer Reading Coaches. You will then pair them up to start the reader on their journey, and offer ongoing support as they progress through their learning through regular calls with both reader and coach to check all is well.

If there is a role listed here that would suit you, please either contact our Volunteer Recruiter using the contact details above, or complete a form using the ‘Enquire now’ button. If there are no suitable vacancies listed at the moment, you can still get in touch if you would like to, and we can keep a note of your interest, if you are happy for us to keep your details.
