Current volunteering opportunities:

There are lots of interesting ways to get involved in our Read Easy group and we currently have several volunteering vacancies on our local Management Team:

  • Team Leader : we’re looking for a new Leader to take over from our current Team Leader who will be stepping down this Autumn. If you’re inspired to lead others, be part of a genuinely transformational charity and provide support and guidance to a team of local volunteers, this could be the perfect role for you. This will appeal to people who are motivated by managing a team of diverse volunteers, and by the challenge of ultimately helping hundreds of adults in their community who can’t read.
  • Community Engagement and Referrals Networker : We are looking for a new community engagement and referrals networker. This is a vital and interesting role within our Management Team to create and develop relationships with local agencies, such as Job Centres, social services and many others who may be able to refer potential readers to the group. This position will suit you if you thrive on networking and making new connections. The impact our local groups make is down to securing a steady stream of Reader referrals, so you will play an instrumental part in making sure the Read Easy Northampton group thrives and your local community reaps the benefits.
  • Group Administrator : our friendly group are looking for a new Administrator, as our Administrator is due to step down by this summer. If you’re a rigorous timekeeper and an organised individual, then we would love to hear from you. Your skills will be vital to support the smooth running of our Management Team. You will support our team of friendly volunteers with administrative tasks including taking minutes of management meetings, keeping administrative records up to date and coordinating internal and external communication. This vital role ensures that the local group functions at its best and in the most efficient and effective way to help adults in your community learn to read.
  • Data Protection Champion : If you believe the ‘devil is in the detail’ and enjoy working alongside a diverse range of people, then why not volunteer to be our Read Easy Data Protection Champion. You will liaise with members of the Team to make sure that all personal data is stored according to the Data Protection Policy and generally oversee that the group’s records are kept correctly and securely so that more people can learn to read in the community

If there is a role listed here that would suit you, please either contact our Volunteer Recruiter using the contact details above, or complete a form using the ‘Enquire now’ button. If there are no suitable vacancies listed at the moment, you can still get in touch if you would like to, and we can keep a note of your interest, if you are happy for us to keep your details.
