Current volunteering opportunities:
There are lots of interesting ways to get involved in a Read Easy group and we often have vacancies, both on our local Management Team and for Reading Coaches. At the moment we are particularly looking to fill the following roles:
- Treasurer. Our treasurer Hazel is moving away from South Devon shortly. While she will continue to work remotely for a while this is a crucial role and Hazel agrees it is better if the treasurer can attend some meetings in person and provide valuable input. While a professional background in finance would be brilliant it is not essential as long as you can maintain accurate records and keep us on the straight and narrow.
- Deputy Team Leader, to work closely with Anne, our team leader with a view to taking over leadership of the group.
- Networkers with local knowledge of Torbay, Teignmouth or Totnes to help us reach out to non-readers, find venues and raise our profile.
- Reading Coaches Torbay- experience of working with adults with additional needs would be an advantage but not essential.
- Coordinator to mentor reading pairs across Torbay.
- Fundraiser to help us stay financially viable.
